A big smile in vibrant colors lights up the Tommaseo State Comprehensive Institute in Conselve with light and beauty. It is the work signed by Maria-Rosa SZY, a Polish-Canadian artist among the protagonists of Super Walls 2025, who with her soft and intensely emotional painting style wanted to transform a school wall into a hymn to care, empathy and hope.
Behind the smiling face depicted on the wall, in fact, there is much more than an aesthetic choice: there is a special dedication to the Padua-based association Giocaconilcuore, which has been bringing joy and lightness to pediatric wards through clown therapy since 2014. Every day, between red noses, super hero visits, soap bubbles and small gestures, the association’s volunteers turn suffering into play, giving children moments of relief and imagination.
With this work, Maria-Rosa SZY wanted to pay tribute to those who sow joy in places of fragility, restoring through art the same contagious energy that animates the work of Giocaconilcuore. And his efforts do not stop at the wall: the artist has announced the creation of a graphic version of the mural, donating the rights to use the image to the association. A concrete gesture, which will allow Giocaconilcuore to use the design on uniforms, prints and materials intended for the fundraiser.
A strong, generous sign consistent with the spirit of Super Walls: a festival that speaks to the city through art, but above all that acts with and for the community, valuing those who every day build human connections, invisible care, shared beauty.
